Software introduction

    A MAN came into a forest and asked the Trees to provide him a handle for his axe. The Trees consented to his request and gave him a young ash-tree. No sooner had the man fitted a new handle to his axe from it, than he began to use it and quickly felled with his strokes the noblest giants of the forest. An old oak, lamenting when too late the destruction of his companions, said to a neighboring cedar, "The first step has lost us all. If we had not given up the rights of the ash, we might yet have retained our own privileges and have stood for ages."&#;

Having just released the third instalment of action-packed Shadow Fight, Nekki already has eyes on its next big project. You may remember 11x11, a browser-based football manager game launched by the Russian developer in 2008. Despite making the transition to mobile only last year, it faces a dramatic overhaul ahead of 2018’s World Cup.

The first 11x11 on mobile sticks faithfully to the browser game’s guns, even down to the retro 2D graphics. The throwback theme hasn’t dissuaded players - the game has been downloaded over a million times since its release. Even so, Nekki will celebrate its home country’s first time hosting the World Cup by flinging 11x11 kicking and scoring into the 21st century. Gone will be the pancake-flat footy shirts floating around a snooker table. Instead, players – with limbs and everything – will run around on freshly mowed pitches fully rendered in glorious 3D. There will even be real-time PVP matches. It’s a whole new ballgame.
Tiny Planet Blast&#;
Super Glitch Dash is a stylish, hypnotic, and wonderfully tricky twitch runner that's just now landed on iOS, Android, and Google Play Pass. It's a full sequel to developer David Marquardt's Glitch Dash, which racked up over 4 million downloads, and it sounds like a major step above its already excellent predecessor.

The idea is that you'll work to skillfully traverse a series of handcrafted levels by timing your moves, dodging hazards, and occasionally flipping the world upside down. All of this plays out to a pulsing soundtrack that really adds to the game's intensity and cool sense of style.

    The Fox and the Grapes
Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi's upcoming strategy RPG Terra Battle will have an energy system you can pay to bypass.

It's not a feature we can honestly get excited about, unlike the rest of the game.

We've known that Terra Battle is free to play since finding out about it in July this year. We were hoping its monetisation wouldn't be too icky.

It seems that it might be, though, unfortunately. You see, Destructoid spoke to Sakaguchi about Terra Battle at PAX Prime, and asked about its free to play model.
And reigned commanding in his monarchy.
