tdgameclub.com
In following the Pokemon GO craze, of course something like this would happen eventually. It was announced yesterday that Legendary Entertainment has won the rights to a Pokemon movie – but not the sort that we saw in 2000. No, this time it's Pokemon's first live-action film adaption, Detective Pikachu.

Only a few weeks after Pokemon GO's release, Legendary are keeping details of the film under wraps. They did however say that production has been fast-tracked for 2017 so we won't have long to wait.

Introduced in Japan in 1996, Pokemon was a hit from the word GO. With 21.5 billion cards, 279 million video games worldwide, 20 films, and a highly popular animated series that lasted way longer than it should have, it's hardly a stupid move to keep the hype train rolling.

To be honest we'll remain entirely sceptical of any live-action remake of popular franchises. Remember how well the live-action films of The Last Airbender (Avatar) or Dragonball: Evolution went? Ugh, let's not speak of it. The only live-action film I want to actually seen in the next few years is Attack on Titan.

[Source]

What's your worst/favourite live-action film? Let us know in the comments below.

Joyous day! There's a Super Mario Bros movie in 'priority development', and we now have a tentative release window for it. You'll all have to learn to exercise some patience, though, as the flick isn't set to hit our screens until 2022.

It's especially exciting news seeing as this is the first ever Mario movie. There has definitely never been another – absolutely not. Of this I am certain.

"I didn't LEARN to care," said Leslie, walking on and speaking passionately. "If it had been like that I could have prevented it. I never dreamed of such a thing until that day, a week ago, when he told me he had finished his book and must soon go away. Then-- then I knew. I felt as if someone had struck me a terrible blow. I didn't say anything--I couldn't speak--but I don't know what I looked like. I'm so afraid my face betrayed me. Oh, I would die of shame if I thought he knew--or suspected."
Zach Gage - creator of SpellTower, developer on Ridiculous Fishing - has put two card games in a blender, and come up with something rather interesting.

It's called Sage Solitaire and marries the fun of turning over random cards in Solitaire, and the strategic depth of making special hands in Poker.

You get nine cards, in three rows of three, and must pick at least two cards from at least two different rows to make a hand. That might be a simple pair, or it might be a royal flush.

Depends how lucky, or smart, you are.

You can also trash cards, and sometimes a specific suit will give you a huge score bonus.

"It’s the casual game you know and love, with a little more depth to make it respectable," says Zach. He hopes to do for card games what SpellTower did for word 'em ups.

Sage Solitaire is out on iOS on August 27th. It will be free at launch, with a one-off £2.29 / $2.99 in-app purchase to turn off ads and unlock some extra goodies like bonus card backs.

Anne had not been especially enthusiastic over the idea of surrounding her flower beds with quahog shells; as a decoration they did not appeal to her on first thought. But she would not have hurt Captain Jim's feelings for anything; so she assumed a virtue she did not at first feel, and thanked him heartily. And when Captain Jim had proudly encircled every bed with a rim of the big, milk-white shells, Anne found to her surprise that she liked the effect. On a town lawn, or even up at the Glen, they would not have been in keeping, but here, in the old-fashioned, sea-bound garden of the little house of dreams, they BELONGED.
