We're only a couple of weeks into 2017 and Spunge Games is at it again with their latest game Faily Skater.

For those who haven't heard of the Faily games before, Faily Brakes and Faily Rider are equal parts ridiculous, entertaining, and addictive. Now with Faily Skater on the way, it's shaping up to be another cracker to the series.

Make your way through narrow streets, dodge obstacles, pull off sick tricks, and ultimately break lots of bones as you chase scores and collect coins.

Granted, the game's forum post did state that it's in extremely early development - which is certainly visible from the low-poly pictures provided - but it's already inviting you lovely folks to beta test the game (which you can sign up to right here).

So get ready to grab your board and shred the gnar in Faily Skater for iOS and Android. There's no release date as of yet but we'll keep you updated as things progress.

A TRAVELER wearied from a long journey lay down, overcome with fatigue, on the very brink of a deep well. Just as he was about to fall into the water, Dame Fortune, it is said, appeared to him and waking him from his slumber thus addressed him: "Good Sir, pray wake up: for if you fall into the well, the blame will be thrown on me, and I shall get an ill name among mortals; for I find that men are sure to impute their calamities to me, however much by their own folly they have really brought them on themselves."

Have you always dreamed of running a country with an iron fist? To quell rebellions and assert your power while you get richer and richer?

You may not need to get help right away, as Tigrido made a game that's just what you're looking for. After a first installment that attracted a sizable following and ended up quite high in the charts.

Dictator 2: Evolution released today on iOS seems to be more of the same but expanded in meaningful ways.

You'll still make choices and try to keep each faction at bay while you assert your power but you'll also control military forces represented by cards in your hands. This time, you're not just conquering one country but the world!

Codenames is possibly the most interesting game I saw at gamescom this year.

It's a spy-themed word association puzzler based on the board game of the same name - and it's from Czech Games Edition, the developer behind the awesome Galaxy Trucker.

You work in teams of two across multiple asynchronous matches against other pairs of human players.

One person plays the Spymaster, and the other the Operative. The goal is to uncover all the face down cards on the board that are associated with your codeword (given to you by your Spymaster).

However, the opposing team is trying to do the same, with their own cards and own codeword.

So there'll be 25 cards on the table, some of which will be your team's (all themed around one topic, like 'War' for example), and some of which will be your enemy's (which might be based on, say, 'Egypt').

As an added layer of strategy, when you log back in after your enemy's turn, you'll be able to see which cards they turn over (regardless of whether they're correct), so you can try and figure out their own codeword, in order to hijack the pool of common cards on the table.

It's really less complicated than it sounds - and it's awesome. Make sure you check Codenames when it launches in November on iOS and Android for £3.99 / $4.99.
