With only a week to go until we can finally get our hands on Super Mario Run it doesn't come as much of a surprise that you'll need an internet connection in order to play it.

According to a recent interview with Mr. Shigeru Miyamoto on Mashable the main reason behind its need for connection is security (i.e. piracy). With the game releasing in 150 countries, all with their own networks, by running Super Mario Run as 'online only' it helps keep the software secure.

By running the game online it also means that Nintendo can keep track of whether the three game modes are all functioning together.

"We wanted to be able to leverage that network connection with all three of the [Super Mario Run] modes to keep all of the modes functioning together and offering the game in a way that keeps the software secure. This is something that we want to continue to work on as we continue to develop the game."

Whilst it's a good idea in Nintendo's eyes to protect the game, it means that Super Mario Run won't quite be an on-the-go game like most of us wanted unless you tap into your mobile data.
A BULL, escaping from a Lion, hid in a cave which some shepherds had recently occupied. As soon as he entered, a He-Goat left in the cave sharply attacked him with his horns. The Bull quietly addressed him: "Butt away as much as you will. I have no fear of you, but of the Lion. Let that monster go away and I will soon let you know what is the respective strength of a Goat and a Bull."

Billiards isn't something I'd typically get excited about. But then, Magic Shot isn't exactly kosher.

In it, you have to hit a white cue ball so that it knocks into the red and yellow balls. With that constant goal in place, the rest of the game warps as if travelling through dimensions.

After each successful trick shot, the table transforms its shape so that its angles and, sometimes, curves make any wall bounce less reliable.

This is all that happens in Mediation mode: the borders of the tables change and each are given a city's name as if a narrative journey. It's similar to Desert Golfing for its monotonous simplicity.

"You'll never grow old, Teacher," said Paul. "You are one of the fortunate mortals who have found and drunk from the Fountain of Youth,--you and Mother Lavendar. See here! When you're married I WON'T call you Mrs. Blythe. To me you'll always be `Teacher'--the teacher of the best lessons I ever learned. I want to show you something."
A FOX and a Monkey were traveling together on the same road. As they journeyed, they passed through a cemetery full of monuments. "All these monuments which you see," said the Monkey, "are in honor of my ancestors, who were in their day freedmen and citizens of great renown." The Fox replied, "You have chosen a most appropriate subject for your falsehoods, as I am sure none of your ancestors will be able to contradict you."

The Brazier and His Dog"Stoutness and slimness seem to be matters of predestination," said Anne. "At all events, Mrs. Harmon Andrews can't say to you what she said to me when I came home from Summerside, `Well, Anne, you're just about as skinny as ever.' It sounds quite romantic to be `slender,' but `skinny' has a very different tang."

It may not look it at first, but BoxPop is a very interesting puzzle game. It's also free.

BoxPop is based on "knight's tour", which is a sequence of moves in chess that sees the knight piece visit every square on the board only once.

As such, each level has you moving across an irregular grid in an L-shape, trying to land on each square.

If you don't perform the sequence of moves in the right way then you won't be able to visit all of the squares. The challenge is to plan ahead or experiment on the fly to succeed.

What really drew me in to BoxPop is how it weaves the history of "knight's tour" between each level. You learn of how it originated as a concept in 9th century India, and how it has since been used for artistic purposes.

As with all good puzzle games, it teaches you to master a system, but goes further and passes on some worldly knowledge, too.
BoxPop is free to download for iOS right now. It has over 40 levels for you to unlock and solve. It's supported by adverts. What's sweet to do, to do will aptly find:
Kept hearts in liveries, but mine own was free,

Our hero Erin fails to defeat the Prince of Darkness the first time round, and vows to come back from the dead for as long as it takes until the fella is gone for good. That’s one hell-of-a grudge - but it’s the perfect premise for the side-scrolling idle carnage on offer in Endless Frontier.

South Korean developer Ekkorr released Endless Frontier in February of last year, and its mix of incremental gameplay and RPG tropes has been pulling in mobile gaming fans ever since. There are several crossovers of this variety out there already, but this one has a couple of unique features that sets it apart.
